(Saturday June 4th, 2005) - Canoeing at Craig's Creek
The troop gathered at the scout building at 9am for a fun
filled weekend at Craig's Creek, Dr. John Schulte's property. The camp site
was on the water and four canoes were available from friends along the lake
(creek). The following scouts worked very hard on their skills for the
canoeing merit badge:
Adam Dixon, Jack Cobb, Alex Wardio, Kevin Crush, Matthew Stark, Josh Graff,
Austin Graff, Dan Turner, Elliott Epping, Kirk Wallace, Tyler Mairose, Omer
Donmez

Scout Masters were: Mr. Don Feldmann, Paul Ruh, Dave Dixon, Steve Mairose,
Jim Epping, Brad Wallace, Kadir Donmez, Pete Stark

Mr. Feldmann our in-house counselor for this skill did a wonderful job as
always.

The boys also enjoyed fishing and camping out. We had running water
available which was great after all the swimming and canoeing in the warn
sun. We all hiked to the other end of the property where we hosed off and
washed before dinner. Boy, was that water cold, but you really felt great
afterwards. After dinner Dr. John invited us down to a campfire which he
already had going before we arrived at his place. Marsh mellows were a big
hit. Mr. Stark told a story about his adventures on the AT back in 1978 when
a black bear decided to visit his camp site. If you weren't there you need
to ask one of the scouts who went for some answers for ROUND TWO of our
program.

Keep reading the web page for more news's.

Pete
